I got sick this last week, and it has been pretty miserable. Thank goodness for wonderful sisters that make you homemade lentil soup, and dads that get you all the medicine and popsicles you could ever need. When I am sick I take Echinacea, Garlic, and Zinc supplements every day. I also eat a ton of oranges and food packed with Vitamin C. It seems to work well. Above you can see a picture of all of my must-haves when sick. Tissues, cough drops, medicine, pain-killers, soup, oranges, and of course DISNEY MOVIES. And yes, I know those video cassettes are ANCIENT, but they still work and I still watch them! I couldn’t leave out a picture of my favorite brand of bread that has absolutely no animal products and is extremely delicious. The lentil soup recipe is literally sooooo good. I am not sure how my sister made it because she never uses a recipe. I can tell you the ingredients are lentils, water, salt, onions, garlic, and cumin. That’s it! So I guess you just sauté the onions and garlic, add the lentils and water according to the correct ratio of lentils to liquid, and then add spices to taste after the lentils are soft. If anyone has any cold fighting strategies they would like to share, I would love to hear them!
